The sunflower seed is a very powerful food!

They are one of the richest sources of vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant that can eliminate free radicals and the damage they can do on the body.

You have to eat them raw to get the maximum amount of nutrients. Toasted seeds do not have the same superfood quality that raw seeds do. When you cook a food, you destroy the enzymes that help break down the food and aid in digestion. When you eat cooked foods, your body has to work harder to give you the nutrients from the food.

Sunflower seeds do have fat, but I'd be more concerned about a half a stick of butter than these babies!

Sunflower seeds that are sprouted can even provide more nutrients. When the seeds are germinating minerals can increase substantially.
