Transcript of this Week's Quick Fix:

Hey Guys!

Today's quick fix is about how a home workout routine can save you a heapload of your precious time. I get a lot of questions about this, so I'm hoping this addresses all of you who ask me!

You've probably dabbled with a home workout routine before. Maybe it worked, maybe it didn't. It's realistic that sometimes things just get in the way.

But regardless of the past, a routine that you can do on your own time in the privacy of your own home is a valuable time saving asset. Here's how you can get on track--minus the distraction of your everyday, "I've-got-so-much-to-do" lifestyle!

The success of your workout routine is directly related to your priorities, your ability to remove distraction, and your knowledge of all the exercises and techniques that make a home workout effective.

First off, before you do any exercise, you need to get your priorities straight. I work with busy people over 50 hours a week. Each one of them has different distractions, motivations, goals, ideas, finances, and a different number of children that pose a threat to their home workout routine from the get-go.

There is one thing, though, that is a common thread. The reason they are not exercising regularly is because they don't have a compelling reason to do so. Simple as that. You need to find out exactly why you're doing something before you make a habit of it.

One client of mine, a mother of two young children, was struggling to lose the 10 pounds she was desperate to lose. I gave her a home workout to try and she liked the ease of it. The only challenge she had was actually doing the exercises. There were too many distractions for her. There were dishes that always needed to be done, kids that needed attention, laundry, Dad... you name it.

After working with her to set her goals and consulting over the phone for a few sessions, I realized this wasn't going where we both wanted it to go. She was frustrated. So was I.

I was getting the idea that maybe it wasn't the 10 pounds that was motivating her. So I asked her a question that got to the heart of the issue. The question was, "What do you care about most?"

She took a moment to think about it and then started to tell me all about her kids and how she wanted to be a fantastic parent. After a few minutes of this passionate talk, I told her to reassess her goals and focus on how fantastic a parent she could be if she had great energy and attitude. She agreed and started fresh.

Two months later, she was thinner, feeling great, and her kids were excited to have a mother that smiled all the time.

Think about what really gets you going and the distractions melt away giving you the opportunity to focus on your workout routine, not anything else.

Hope that helps!

Continuing my quest to introduce you to some awesome people, I want to tell you about Leon Jay who is the founder of www.eft-therapy.com. If you haven't heard about EFT, which is short for Emotional Freedom Technique, I suggest you check out his informative site and sign up for his newsletter and learn how to do EFT. I've used it for success and breaking down mental blockages for almost a year now and as you can see I've turned out just fine! (Well, maybe that's debatable!) All kidding aside, I've included a link below. Go give Leon a shout!
