Full Body and Bodyweight Exercises - Upward Dog / Downward Dog
  
Downward Dog / Upward Dog is borrowed from the East. Like the Hindu Squat, this exercise does not only work your entire upper body, it increases flexibility in the spine and increases stamina. Try these to replace regular pushups and see how quickly you will increase your upper body strength.
- Start with your hands shoulder width apart.
- Your feet should be on the floor at shoulder width or wider, depending on your flexibility.
- Start with your butt in the air and your head looking back to your heels.
- Drop your hips down to the ground, curling your back.
- Look up to the ceiling and inhale.
- Push back toward your heels again and keeping your ARMS STRAIGHT return to the start position.
