The squat is the essential lower body exercise.  You do not need ANY WEIGHT to make this effective, contrary to popular belief.   Bodyweight squats will increase circulation and allow you to have increased stamina and energy.

Do them without weight and don't worry about getting lower back injuries or blown out knees.  Doing them with the ball behind your back forces you to use proper form.

  1. Stand legs shoulder width apart small of your back against the ball which rest against the wall.
  2. Put your hands out for balance or put them on your hips.
  3. Inhale and squat down, no more than 90-degrees making sure your knees do not go over your feet.
  4. Exhale and come back to start.
  5. Repeat until you can't do any more!
