Weight Loss Strategy - How to Fix a Diet Slip Up
The best weight loss strategy to deal with slip-ups is to put them where they belong--behind you--and to take a look at your past successes to help you move forward quickly. A good goal setting program will make you think about where you've been before and help you see that it wasn't always a smooth ride to get there. I tell each one of my clients to list some of their past successes--fitness and beyond--then have them outline what it took to get there. When they realize that they had a ton of slip-ups along the way, they aren't as worried about diet and exercise slip-ups while they're losing weight. When you start to make-up for those extra brownies or that huge piece of cake, you start to battle yourself and not work towards your ultimate goal.

Don't let your diet motivation fade!

It's easy for many people to go astray. Over time, these things can become debilitating to any weight loss program without a goal setting program that involves a certain amount of reflection--more so than "I want to lose 6 pounds in 6 weeks."That's why I truly believe that weight loss strategy really has nothing to do with focusing or paying too much attention to your slip-ups, it has to do with your drive and motivation to stick with a well thought out plan. The first piece of "equipment" I generally recommend for any client is a goal setting program to help that person put their slip-ups into perspective. Otherwise, they'll never see the results that they're looking for because they really haven't thought of where they're going.
